The Willamette United Football Club is proud to announce that Fischer Steenson and Geneva Mahany are our June 2024 Players of the Month! We are incredibly proud to call these two amazing players members of our organization. Congratulations to Fischer and Geneva!
Fischer Steenson: In a recent statement, Coach Jonny praised Fischer for his exemplary qualities as a team player. Coach Jonny highlighted Fischer’s attentiveness and respectfulness towards others, noting his keen attention to detail during coaching instructions. Fischer is commended for his ability to apply this knowledge effectively in games, his generosity with the ball, and his understanding of when to maintain possession or facilitate plays. Additionally, Coach Jonny emphasized Fischer’s respectful communication, pointing out that he never talks over others. “Fischer is someone anybody would want as a teammate!” Coach Jonny concluded.

Geneva Mahany: In a recent statement, Coach Sydney praised Geneva’s remarkable development over the past two seasons. “Geneva is an amazing player who has grown immensely, thanks to her hard work both on and off the field. She is one of the most coachable athletes, consistently giving her full attention and effort. As a true student of the game, she leads by example,” Coach Sydney commented. “Geneva embodies the core values of WUFC, and it has been an honor to coach her.”
